The Elders teach on John 17 “The high Priestly Prayer”.
John 17
Oneness:
1) in the Father’s name (John 17:6-13)
2) in sanctification through the Word (John 17:14-21)
3) in divine glory, for His expression (John 17:22-24)
The name of God/Jehovah is revealed in the Old Testament.
In New Testament Jesus revealed the name of Father.
- sons express their fathers
- fathers represent the source of life, multiplication of life
- many sons
- separation from the world in, and by the truth, the word of God
- sanctification through two kinds of words. “Constant” (John 17:6,14,17) and “instant” (John 17:8)
- sanctification - position and disposition
- righteous standing, and righteous acting
“Sanctification is allowing the perfections of Jesus to express themselves through your personality”
- Oswald Chambers
- define Glory, for the corporate expression, that the world may know
- Sonship is for Glory
- Glory is the manifestation of His presence
- Unity is easier when glory is present
- Lesser things fade as God is lifted higher
